Police Arrest Two Nuns After Discovering Marijuana Plantation at Convent

Police in Masaka are investigating a local convent after a large marijuana plantation was discovered in the convent’s gardens earlier this week. Two of the convent’s nuns were arrested after the plantation was discovered.
According to New Vision, the nuns were taken into custody after they refused to make a statement to the police. The paper also says there was a “scuffle” between the nuns and law enforcement officials after the nuns accused the police of entering the convent without permission.
The UPI reports that the plantation spanned an entire acre on the convent’s grounds. Two porters employed by the convent were also arrested and were later released on bail.

During questioning, one of the nuns told police officials that the marijuana was meant to treat farm animals that fell ill.
No one at the convent has been formally charged as of yet.

I’ve got never smoked and I do not drink. Nonetheless I will purchase cigarettes and alcohol 1 block in either direction of where I live.
