Community Abroad Loses Beloved Academic and Friend
With deep sorrow, we regret to announce the untimely death of our beloved Father, grandfather, husband and friend, Dr. Moses S. Musoke. He died suddenly on Thursday, July 1st, 2010 at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, New York at the age of 66.
Dr. Musoke was born in Uganda and was a resident of Pawling , New York for the last three years. Before living in New York, Dr. Musoke lived and worked in Wisconsin, Virginia, New Jersey and Florida.
Dr. Musoke was a professor of Economics, Finance and Africana Studies at Empire State College in Hartsdale New York for over twenty years. Prior to Empire State College he taught at Rutgers University in New Jersey, Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia and Edison Community College in Fort Myers Florida.
Dr. Musoke began his education in Uganda where he received his primary school education at Kira Primary School, Seeta Primary School, junior secondary school at Mengo, senior secondary school at Lubiri Secondary School, ‘A’ level at Old Kampala, and BA in Economics-History at Makerere University. Dr. Musoke received his MA in History at SUNY-Binghamton , MS and Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He also received an MBA from Rutgers University. Before coming to the U.S. Dr. Musoke worked at Uganda Commercial Bank.
Dr. Musoke leaves behind his beloved wife of 40 years, Myrtle Musoke. He is also survived by four daughters, Ann-Eliza, Harriet, Nabisubi, Namakula, his son, Alan Musoke and four grandchildren. He is survived by his mother, Victoria Kyazze, several sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and colleagues at Empire State College.
The family of Dr. Moses Musoke will be at their residence on Saturday and Sunday, mourning the death of their beloved one.
Funeral services are still being arranged.
