Museveni: Uganda Will Fight Al Shabab
By Lakshmi Gandhi
Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni says the country will retaliate against the Somali terrorist group responsible for last Sunday’s attacks. The remarks were made during a late-night press conference on Wednesday.
“I am very very furious. Very, very angry. Very angry but also not surprised because this is the character of these middle eastern groups,” Voice of America quotes Museveni as saying. “I don’t know what happened to them. They say they are revolutionaries but their actions are the most reactionary, most backward. Cowardly, real criminals. Why do you target people who just watch football.”
Museveni also said that next week’s African Union summit will go on as planned.
