Al-Shabaab Supporter Arrested in New York on 7-10; Tried to Board Plane to Entebbe
Chesser tried to travel to Uganda the day before the attacks in Kampala. Jawa report.

The day before the bombing in Kampala, a 20-year-old man involved with providing support to al-Shabaab was arrested in New York. Virginia-native Zachary Adam Chesser was captured when he tried to board a plane to Uganda at JFK Airport.
After taking part in the Uganda attack, Chesser planned to travel to Somalia. The militant group attacked the presidential villa in Mogadishu yesterday, putting them into combat with the African Union peacekeeping mission, which is run by Uganda and Burundi, according to reporting by the Daily Monitor.
Yesterday, Chesser appeared in federal court and asked for an attorney. Chesser had been exchanging e-mails with a Yemeni-American cleric who had attempted an attack on the U.S., Anwar al-Awaki, reported CNN.
