Editor Charged With Sedition After 7-11 Stories: Timothy Kalyegira

Last Monday, journalist Timothy Kalyegira was interrogated by the police for ten hours and accused of violating Uganda’s sedition laws after running two controversial articles on whether the government could be implicated in the 7-11 attacks on Kampala.  It’s the first time any online journalist has been charged with sedition in Uganda.  Blogger Rebecca Harshbarger, whose site Uganda Beat is now based at Ugandans Abroad, shares the story.  Click here to read it.
